Mayawati: Opposition's 'Gen Z vote greed' blocked FCRA discussion

Mayawati is a leader of a political party called the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP).

She was upset because Parliament — the place where leaders meet to make laws — was not running.

She said the Opposition parties are not letting Parliament do its work.

She thinks they are either secretly helping the government or just want votes from young people, which she called 'greed for Gen Z votes.'

A new rule about how groups in the country can receive foreign money was being discussed.

Mayawati said this rule, called the FCRA amendment Bill, was sent to a special committee without a proper discussion first.

She said both the government's side and the Opposition turned the rule into a big political fight.

She thinks the Opposition should have allowed Parliament to talk about the rule and explain its problems.

That way, she said, the entire country would know about the rule's shortcomings.
