Amit Shah Launches Gramin Gyan Setu Linking Gujarat Rural Libraries
People in small villages in Gujarat are getting more books to read because of a new project called 'Gramin Gyan Setu'.
A very important leader named Amit Shah started this project.
Small village libraries are now connected to four big central libraries that have 2,80,000 books.
Special vans that carry books will visit villages every 15 days.
The vans will pick up old books and bring new books that people order on their phones or computers.
The books include fun stories like Aladdin's Magic Lamp and Sindbad's Adventures.
There are also books about history, the 1857 freedom struggle, and tests for people who want government jobs.
Gujarat's Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel wants to build an even bigger library in Gandhinagar, with Rs 100 crore set aside for it.
He also plans to open libraries in 15 tribal areas this year.
The goal is to help every child in every village learn and read more.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah virtually launched the 'Gramin Gyan Setu' project in the Gandhinagar Lok Sabha constituency on August 12.
The initiative connects 63 rural libraries in Gandhinagar, Kalol and Sanand with four central libraries holding a combined 2.8 lakh books.
Village libraries have been stocked with around 4,500 to 6,000 books each, including children's stories, history books and competitive exam material.
Four mobile library vans, funded through the Member of Parliament grant, will visit villages every 15 days to collect old books and deliver new ones ordered via a digital app.
Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel said the state has made a provision of Rs 100 crore for a 'Namo Central Library' in Gandhinagar and plans Birsa Munda Libraries in 15 tribal talukas this year.
