Afghan Church To Glow With Celestial Imagery In Mumbai
Mumbai’s historic Afghan Church will become a giant screen for a light show.
The show is called ASCENSION.
It will run from August 27 to 29.
People can visit between 7pm and 10pm.
Moving pictures and colorful lights will be projected onto the church.
The images will include celestial scenes inspired by the cosmos.
The projections will show off the church’s arches, carvings and stained-glass windows.
The event is part of the Mumbai Light Festival.
It combines modern digital art with an old and important building.
Mumbai’s Afghan Church will host ASCENSION from August 27 to 29.
The immersive projection-mapping installation is presented by the Floating Canvas Company.
Visitors can view the digital artwork between 7pm and 10pm each evening.
Projections will highlight the church’s Gothic arches, stone carvings and stained-glass windows.
The church was built between 1847 and 1858 to commemorate soldiers who died in the First Anglo-Afghan War.
