SC to hear Tamil Nadu's plea for Cauvery water release
There is a big river in India called the Cauvery.
Two states, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, share the river.
The two states argue about how much water each one should get.
This year there was very little rain, so there was not much water in the river.
Tamil Nadu says it is not getting its fair share of the water.
So Tamil Nadu asked the Supreme Court of India to help.
The court can give orders that the states must follow.
Tamil Nadu wants the court to order Karnataka to send the water right away.
The court agreed to hear the case on August 13.
A group of top judges, led by the Chief Justice, will listen and then decide what should happen.
