Punjab Approves Over 120% Salary Hike for Adarsh Teachers
Punjab’s government has decided to give Adarsh School teachers much higher salaries.
Their monthly pay will increase from about Rs 10,000 to more than Rs 22,000.
Around 1,100 teachers will benefit from the decision.
They will also receive better workplace facilities.
These facilities will follow the pattern used in Kendriya Vidyalaya schools.
More than 15,000 students attend the Adarsh Schools.
Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann said teachers are very important to education.
He said the increase was meant to correct years of low pay and support teachers in their work.
