18 shortlisted candidates interviewed for Ram Temple CEO position
The Ram Temple is a very important Hindu temple in a city called Ayodhya, in India.
The people who manage the temple need to choose a new boss, called a CEO.
Lots of people wanted the job — more than 5,300 applied.
Only 18 people were chosen to be interviewed.
The person who gets the job will look after the temple's money, buildings and daily activities.
The temple managers have some special rules for the job.
The new CEO must be a Hindu, eat only vegetarian food and never drink alcohol.
The person also has to be between 50 and 70 years old.
The hiring is happening because some people were accused of stealing temple donations.
Police investigated and arrested eight people, so the temple wants a strong new leader to fix the problem.
More than 5,300 people applied for the Ram Temple CEO post; 18 candidates were shortlisted for interviews in Ayodhya.
The CEO will be responsible for overseeing the temple's administration, management and business affairs.
Candidates must be practising Hindus, pure vegetarians, strict teetotallers and aged between 50 and 70 years.
The recruitment follows allegations of donation embezzlement that emerged in the first week of June and prompted a police investigation.
An FIR was registered on June 25 and eight people were arrested; the highest cash recovered from an accused was ₹20.39 lakh, besides gold, silver and foreign currency.
