Bengal Police Arrest 23 in Singur Illegal Liquor Crackdown

The police in a place called Bengal caught people who were making illegal drinks that people are not allowed to make without permission.

The police arrested 23 people who were making these illegal drinks in a town called Singur.

They found about 720 litres of the illegal drink, which is a very large amount.

They also found 2,500 litres of a liquid called fermented wash, which is used to make the drink.

The police destroyed the wash and broke the ovens and machines used to make the drink.

Each of the 23 people arrested got a separate case registered against them under a law called the Bengal Excise Act.

The police said they have a policy of zero tolerance, meaning they will not allow any illegal drink-making.

They promised to keep working hard until no more illegal drinks are made in the area.

Local residents thanked the police for their action.
