Chicken Prices Fall Sharply With Advent of Holy Shravana Month

A special holy month called Shravana Masam started on August 13.

During this month, many people choose to eat only vegetarian food and stop eating meat.

Because fewer people are buying chicken, the price of chicken has gone down a lot.

Chicken that used to cost more than ₹300 for one kilogram now costs about ₹240.

That is a big drop in just a few days.

Egg prices have also gone down a little.

But the price of mutton, which is goat or sheep meat, has not gone down.

It is still very expensive at more than ₹850 for one kilogram.

Country chicken is also still expensive at about ₹750 for one kilogram.

So while some people get cheaper chicken, others still find meat too costly.
