BJP Protest at KRS Dam Demands Supreme Court Appeal
A big protest happened at a dam in Karnataka where farmers and a political party called BJP gathered to say they were unhappy with how the state was sharing water from the Cauvery River.
They want the state to ask the Supreme Court to stop a decision that would send water to the neighboring state of Tamil Nadu.
The protest was led by two well-known politicians, B.Y. Vijayendra and B.S. Yediyurappa.
The state police put more than 1,500 officers around the dam to keep everyone safe.
The protest also stopped people from entering a nearby garden for the day.

Karnataka deployed over 1,500 police officers to prevent a siege and maintain law and order.
Entry to Brindavan Gardens was prohibited and security was increased in Mandya, Srirangapatna, and Maddur.
The protest criticizes the Congress government for handling the Cauvery water dispute and for directing Karnataka to release water to Tamil Nadu.
