NEET UG 2026 Counselling Begins Soon
The NEET UG 2026 exam results are out, and soon, students will start the counselling process to get into medical colleges.
The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) will handle the counselling for 15% of the seats, while the rest will be managed by the states.
There are now more than 1.36 lakh MBBS seats in 823 medical colleges.
Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Rajasthan added the most new seats.
Over 11 lakh students qualified, with more than half being women.
The top medical colleges include AIIMS New Delhi, PGIMER Chandigarh, and CMC Vellore.

NEET UG 2026 counselling for 15% All India Quota (AIQ) seats to be conducted by MCC, with state authorities handling the remaining 85% state quota seats.
Total MBBS seats increased to 1,36,939 across 823 medical colleges, with 9,911 new seats added for the 2026-27 academic session.
Karnataka added the most new MBBS seats (1,300), followed by Tamil Nadu (950) and Rajasthan (900).
Over 11.21 lakh candidates qualified, with 58% being women, and 138 candidates scoring above 690 out of 720.
