Country Music Icon Dolly Parton Dies at 80

Dolly Parton was a famous country music singer and songwriter from the United States.

She has died at the age of 80.

She started her career in the 1960s and wrote more than 3,000 songs.

Some of her best-known songs were “Jolene,” “Coat of Many Colours” and “I Will Always Love You.”

Dolly grew up in a large family that had very little money.

She used some of her success to help children read and learn.

She created organizations including the Dollywood Foundation and Imagination Library.

She also donated money to medical research and other charities.
