Court Refuses to Quash FIR Against Advocate in Bribery Case

A lawyer in India is in trouble with the police.

Her name is Dayina Banu, and she works in a city called Mysuru.

Police say she took money from a mother whose son was in jail for a serious crime.

The mother wanted her son to be let out on bail.

Banu is accused of saying the money was needed to pay a judge so the judge would help.

That would be very wrong, because judges must be fair and cannot be bribed.

Banu asked a big court, called the Karnataka High Court, to stop the police investigation.

The court said no, and that the police should be allowed to keep investigating.

The court also said trying to bribe a judge is very serious, so the investigation will go on.
