Seven wins from nine Tests: India's WTC final qualification equation
Cricket has a big competition called the World Test Championship where teams play matches over a few years.
Teams don't just count wins - they earn a special score called a points percentage.
India has played nine matches so far and is in fifth place, having won four, lost four and drawn one.
They still have nine more matches to play, so their chances are not over.
To be safe, India needs to win seven of those nine matches.
If they do, their points percentage will be nearly 63 percent, which is usually enough to reach the final.
The final will be played at Lord's, a famous cricket ground in England.
India's remaining matches are in Sri Lanka and New Zealand, and then at home against Australia.
Winning in Sri Lanka and New Zealand would make the big series against Australia easier.
However, if India loses more than two of their remaining matches, they would need other teams' results to go their way.
India sit fifth in the WTC standings with a 48.15% points percentage after four wins, four defeats and one draw in nine Tests.
India's qualification remains in their own hands with nine Tests and 108 points still available in the cycle.
Winning seven of the remaining nine Tests would give India a 62.96% PCT, a level historically enough to reach the final.
India's remaining schedule features two Tests each in Sri Lanka and New Zealand plus five home Tests against Australia in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
A six-win finish would leave India on 59.26% PCT, making qualification dependent on results involving Australia, England, South Africa and New Zealand.
