A very important leader in the Indian state of West Bengal, Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari, visited the family of a man named Birju Keot.

Birju Keot was a worker for a political party called the Trinamool Congress, and he had died.

The leader gave the family ten lakh rupees, which is a lot of money, to help raise their child.

He also promised the dead man's wife, Jeni Sharma Keot, a government job.

The wife thanked him for the job but said she still wants all the police officers who were in the police station when her husband died to be punished.

A few days earlier, the former Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee, also visited the family.

While she was there, angry local people threw stones and bottles at her car.

The current Chief Minister said the attack happened because Banerjee did not tell the police where she was going.
