Tribals Excluded from UCC Ambit in Chhattisgarh, Says Deputy CM

The government of a state in India called Chhattisgarh is working on a new set of rules called the Uniform Civil Code.

This code means one law for many different people.

The Deputy Chief Minister, Vijay Sharma, talked about these rules.

He said tribal people, who are called Scheduled Tribes, will not have to follow the new code.

Their community has its own traditional way of life.

So the government wants to leave them out of the new law.

But for everyone else, he said there should be one law and one provision.

He said the work on this is already underway.

He said the new code will be seen in Chhattisgarh in the coming time.
