Madhya Pradesh Congress leader raises separate tribal code demand
In Bhopal, a city in India, a big celebration was held on the International Day of the World's Indigenous Peoples.
More than 22 groups of tribal people came together for this special day.
They wore their traditional clothes and danced happily to the beat of drums and cymbals.
A leader named Umang Singhar gave a speech at the event.
He is a leader of the Congress party and leads the opposition in the Madhya Pradesh assembly.
He said that more than 22 out of every 100 people in Madhya Pradesh are tribal.
He believes tribal people are not getting all their rights and that their identity and culture are in danger.
He asked for a special set of laws just for tribal people, called a tribal code.
He reminded everyone that tribal people had their own code long ago during British rule.
He promised to keep fighting for this demand so tribal communities and their culture are protected for the next generation.

Singhar said tribal communities constitute over 22 per cent of Madhya Pradesh's population but are being deprived of their rights.
He argued that tribal people had a separate code during the British era and should have one today as well.
More than 22 tribal organisations participated, with members in traditional attire dancing to the beat of drums and cymbals.
