Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Police Penalise 26 Personnel as Helmet Drive Begins

Wearing a helmet keeps people safe when they ride a motorbike or scooter.

In a city called Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, the police wanted everyone to wear helmets.

Too many people were getting hurt and dying in road accidents.

So the police started a special drive, which is a big effort to make sure people wear helmets.

The police decided to start with their own officers first.

They said every police officer must wear a helmet while riding a two-wheeler.

On Monday, they checked police officers, and 26 of them were fined for not wearing helmets.

The fines added up to ₹26,000, and some of that money has already been collected.

Next, the police will check people who work in government offices.

After that, they will check everyone in the city who rides a two-wheeler without a helmet.
