SSB Wins All-India Police Judo Championship, CISF Second
A big police sports event was held in Hyderabad from July 23 to 30, 2024.
About 1,600 police athletes from 36 groups competed in judo, karate, wushu, taekwondo and pencak silat.
The Sashastra Seema Bal team won the most points and became the overall champion.
The Central Industrial Security Force came in second, and the Indo‑Tibetan Border Police were third.
Police leaders said the event helps build teamwork and keeps officers fit.
They also announced that Telangana Police will host more all‑India police competitions in Hyderabad over the next two years.
Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) won overall with 203 points, 24 gold, 20 silver, 23 bronze medals.
Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) finished second with 198 points, 25 gold, 16 silver, 25 bronze medals.
Indo‑Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) placed third with 138 points, 10 gold, 21 silver, 26 bronze medals.
The championship hosted 1,600 athletes from 36 police organisations at GMC Balayogi Indoor Stadium, Hyderabad.
Telangana Police announced it will host future All‑India Police competitions in Hyderabad over the next two years.
