Singer Arrested Over Fake Murder Responsibility Social Media Post

Police arrested singer Bhupendra Dhingra over a video posted on fake social media accounts.

In the video, he falsely said he was responsible for killing Ankit Balyan.

Police said Dhingra made the video to gain more followers.

His followers on one account reportedly grew from 28 to about 7,500.

Balyan was shot while leaving a gym in Shamli on August 26.

Police say they identified four people suspected of carrying out the shooting.

Two suspected shooters, Mohit and Sumit, died during a police encounter on August 31.

A government inquiry will now examine how those two men died.

People with relevant information can submit it to the local magistrate on October 14.
