Indian Stock Market Suffers Broad Selloff
The Indian stock market had a very bad day on Tuesday.
The Sensex and Nifty indices fell a lot because of worries about global trade and not-so-good company earnings.
Many stocks, especially in the real estate and auto sectors, lost a lot of value.
Some stocks like Deepak Nitrite and Jindal Saw did well, but most others did not.
The Indian rupee also got weaker against the dollar, and people are buying more gold and silver because they are seen as safe investments.
Experts say the market is weak but might get better if it stays above certain levels.
They advise investors to be careful and choose stocks wisely.
Sensex and Nifty fell over 1% due to geopolitical tensions and weak earnings.
BSE Midcap and Smallcap indices declined by 2.62% and 2.85% respectively.
Market capitalisation of BSE-listed firms fell to Rs 466 lakh crore.
Nifty Realty, Consumer Durables, and Chemicals indices were among the worst performers.
Top gainers were Deepak Nitrite, Jindal Saw, and Hindustan Zinc, while top losers included Newgen Software, Ola Electric, and Havells India.
