Juniper Green, MV Electrosystems Debut as Q1 Earnings Pour In
Two companies, Juniper Green Energy and MV Electrosystems, started selling their shares to the public for the first time on August 6.
This is called an IPO, and it lets people buy a tiny part of a company.
Juniper Green Energy, a renewable energy company, raised 1,800 crore rupees, while MV Electrosystems, which makes electrical equipment, raised 290 crore rupees.
At the same time, many companies told everyone how much money they made or lost in the April to June quarter.
Companies do this four times a year so share owners can see how the business is doing.
Some companies did very well: Biocon's profit jumped 349 percent, and Aurobindo Pharma's profit grew 25 percent.
Hindalco's subsidiary Novelis, which makes aluminum, also earned a lot more money.
But other companies struggled — Godrej Agrovet's profit fell, and Cohance Lifesciences lost money.
American health inspectors visited Cohance Lifesciences' factory in Hyderabad and listed five things the company needs to fix.
Sharing these numbers helps people decide whether to buy or sell their shares.
Juniper Green Energy and MV Electrosystems begin trading on Indian stock exchanges on Thursday, August 6, after completing their IPOs.
Juniper Green's Rs 1,800 crore IPO (Rs 225 per share) was subscribed 7.97 times; MV Electrosystems' Rs 290 crore IPO (Rs 425 per share) was booked nearly 189 times.
Aurobindo Pharma's June-quarter net profit rose 25.2% to Rs 1,032.6 crore on revenue of Rs 9,150.4 crore, up 16.3% year on year.
Hindalco subsidiary Novelis reported net income up 71% to $164 million, with adjusted EBITDA up 24% to $516 million.
Earnings were mixed — PB Fintech and Biocon profits surged while Godrej Agrovet and JK Lakshmi Cement profits fell; Cohance Lifesciences swung to a Rs 24.12 crore loss and received a USFDA Form 483 with five observations.
