Paithani Training And Development Centre Opens in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar
A new centre for learning how to make Paithani sarees opened at a college in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar.
Abdul Sattar inaugurated it on Saturday.
The event was organised by the Shiv Sena and Vaijapur Taluka Vikas Manch.
Industrialist Dr J.K. Jadhav helped start the centre.
He said the centres are meant to give women employment opportunities.
Other activities included computer training, health awareness and awards for teachers and students.
Paithani weavers were also honoured.
Jadhav said he wants to open more centres across Marathwada.
A Paithani saree training and development centre was inaugurated at Jeevan Vikas Mahavidyalaya.
Former minister and MLA Abdul Sattar inaugurated the centre during an event held on Saturday.
The programme also included computer training centres, teacher and student felicitation, health campaigns and recognition of Paithani weavers.
Dr J.K. Jadhav said centres had been established in Shiur, Hilalpur, Koradgaon and Vaijapur to create employment for women.
Jadhav said he plans to establish Paithani centres throughout the Marathwada region, including all of Vaijapur taluka.
