Spider-Man: Brand New Day Swings Past $1.67 Billion Globally
Spider-Man: Brand New Day is a superhero movie that lots of people wanted to see.
In just a few days, millions of people bought tickets to watch it.
During its second weekend, it made $381 million around the world.
That brought its total earnings to $1.67 billion.
In the United States and Canada, it has made $655 million so far.
That is more than any other movie has ever made there in its first 10 days.
It might become the first movie to make $1 billion just in the US.
In China, it has made $186 million, and in India it became the most successful Hollywood movie ever.
Many experts think it will make $2.5 billion in total.
Only two other movies, Avatar and Avengers: Endgame, have ever made that much money.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day earned $381 million worldwide in its second weekend, bringing its global total to $1.67 billion.
With $655 million from the US and Canada, it is the highest-grossing film domestically after 10 days, without inflation adjustment.
It is on track to become the first movie to gross $1 billion in the US, surpassing Star Wars: The Force Awakens' record of $936 million.
The film has earned $186 million in China and is the highest-grossing Hollywood release ever in India, with $52.8 million (Rs 496.93 crore gross).
It is expected to cross the $2 billion mark this week and could become only the third film to surpass $2.5 billion, alongside Avatar and Avengers: Endgame.
