Bhopal Land Dispute Escalates After Firing Outside Businessman’s Home
Two shots were reportedly fired outside a businessman’s home in Goregaon.
The incident happened at about 2:30 a.m.
on Friday.
Police said several men came in an SUV and then drove away.
The businessman, Santosh Singh Tomar, said the men threatened to kill him.
He had earlier complained about suspected illegal plotting on land in the area.
He also said he had received threatening phone calls.
Cameras recorded an SUV but did not clearly show who fired the shots.
Police are studying the footage and other evidence to identify the people involved.
Two rounds were allegedly fired outside 60-year-old businessman Santosh Singh Tomar’s home in Goregaon at about 2:30 a.m. Friday.
Police said more than six men arrived in an SUV, opened fire near the gate, allegedly threatened Tomar, and fled.
Tomar had previously complained about alleged illegal plotting on nearby land involving resident Lakhan Maran.
Tomar also reported receiving threatening calls warning that he could not continue his business or live in the area.
CCTV recorded an SUV arriving and leaving, but did not show anyone firing; police are examining the footage and other evidence.
