UK AI Minister Kanishka Narayan's Roots Trace to Bihar Village
Kanishka Narayan is a very important person in the United Kingdom's government.
His job is to help keep the internet safe and look after new technology like artificial intelligence.
Even though he works far away in Britain, his family originally comes from a small village in India.
The village is called Sondho and it is in a place called Bihar.
Kanishka has never visited the village, but his father and other family members still go there.
People in the village are very proud of him.
He recently met with Jitendra Singh, a big minister from India.
They talked about how India and the UK can work together on science and technology.
The two countries agreed to work together on a special plan back in 2023.
The meeting happened at a big event called the India AI Impact Summit.
Kanishka Narayan serves as the United Kingdom's Minister for AI and Online Safety.
His ancestral roots are in Sondho village in the Goraul block of Vaishali district, Bihar, though he has never visited.
He held a bilateral meeting with India's Science and Technology Minister Jitendra Singh on the sidelines of the India AI Impact Summit in February.
The two leaders reviewed progress under the India-UK Research and Innovation MoU signed in April 2023.
His family, described as a prominent landowning family, donated the land on which the local village hospital stands.
