Thanjavur Farmers Face November 15 Crop Insurance Deadline

Farmers in Thanjavur district are growing samba and thaladi crops.

They have until November 15 to insure these crops.

Insurance can help farmers receive money if their crops are damaged.

Two insurance companies will cover different parts of the district.

Kshema General Insurance Company will cover the Thanjavur 1 area.

Agricultural Insurance Company Ltd will cover the Thanjavur 2 area.

Farmers must pay Rs.

583.50 for each acre they insure.

The insurance can provide compensation of Rs.

38,900 per acre, and the Collector recommended it because of the El Nino and Super El Nino situation.
