Gleneagles BGS Hospital Performs Pioneering Non-Surgical Thyroid Treatment
A hospital in Bengaluru did a special treatment for a lady with a non-cancerous lump in her thyroid.
Normally, such lumps are treated with surgery, but this time, the doctors used two different methods together.
First, they blocked the blood supply to the lump, and then they used heat to destroy it.

The procedure was done on a 41-year-old woman with a highly vascular benign thyroid nodule.
The treatment blocked the blood supply to the nodule and then used heat to destroy it, all under ultrasound guidance.
The procedure took 90 minutes, required no surgery, and the patient was discharged the same day.
The thyroid nodule reduced from 16 cc to 3 cc, with no visible scars or complications.
