Russia-China Gas Pipeline Needs Extensive Work
Russia and China are planning to build a new gas pipeline called Power of Siberia 2.
A Chinese researcher said it will take a lot of work, jobs, and negotiations to complete.
It might take 8 to 10 years to finish.
Russia already has a pipeline called Power of Siberia 1, which started sending gas to China in 2019.
They recently agreed to send more gas through this pipeline and another route.
However, they still need to agree on the price of the gas.
A proposed pipeline, Power of Siberia 2, requires extensive work and negotiations.
Construction is expected to take 8-10 years.
Russia and China have agreed to increase gas exports through the existing Power of Siberia 1 pipeline.
Additional gas exports will also go through the Far Eastern route, starting in 2027.
The price of gas remains a point of disagreement between Russia and China.
