Arunachal Governor orders faster border fencing to curb crime
The leader of Arunachal Pradesh, called the Governor, met with the state's top police officer to talk about keeping people safe.
He asked the police to build fences faster along the border so that criminals cannot easily enter and commit crimes like kidnapping.
Part of the state shares a border with the country of Myanmar, and that area does not have a fence yet.
The Governor also said police should be ready for natural disasters, like landslides, flash floods and cloudbursts.
He wants police to work closely with rescue teams and local leaders to help people during emergencies.
The Governor shared a mobile app called SURAKSHA APP that could let citizens get real-time security help.
He also travelled to New Delhi to meet the Union Home Minister and discuss how to stop drugs coming across the border.
Drug trafficking is a growing problem in the state, fuelled by narcotics from across international borders.
The Governor believes a secure environment is needed so that Arunachal Pradesh can develop and grow.
