India Names 23-Player Squad for AFC U20 Asian Cup Qualifiers
India has chosen 23 young football players for an important tournament.
The qualifying matches will be played in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
India will play Syria, Uzbekistan and Bangladesh.
The matches are scheduled from August 31 to September 6.
Eight players from an earlier group were left out for technical or injury-related reasons.
Daniyal Makakmayum was added to the final squad.
India also played four friendly matches while preparing.
Finishing first in the group or being one of the seven best runners-up can take India to the 2027 tournament in China.
India selected a 23-player squad for the AFC U20 Asian Cup China 2027 Qualifiers in Tashkent.
Eight players from the earlier 30-player group were released for technical or injury-related reasons, while Daniyal Makakmayum joined.
India will face Syria, Uzbekistan and Bangladesh in Group B from August 31 to September 6.
The squad was chosen after more than 100 players were assessed in trials that began in Bengaluru in June.
Group winners and the seven best runners-up across eight groups will qualify for the 2027 tournament in China.
