SAD Demands Probe into Paper Leaks, Barnala Lathi‑Charge
SAD, a political party in Punjab, sent a group led by Sukhbir Singh Badal to meet the state governor.
They asked for a big investigation into rumors that exam papers were leaked, which could help many people get jobs.
They also wanted a court case about a police attack on sanitation workers in Barnala.
Badal said the current government, led by Bhagwant Mann, had done this many times.
The governor and the police are looking into the Barnala incident, and a police officer was suspended.
SAD delegation led by Sukhbir Singh Badal met Punjab Governor Gulab Chand Kataria on July 31 to demand a CBI probe into alleged paper leaks affecting 10 lakh candidates.
Delegation also requested a judicial inquiry into a lathi‑charge on sanitation workers in Barnala, where police used batons against Dalit women and struck their heads.
Badal alleged that the AAP government has registered more than 10 paper leaks in the past four and a half years, including exams for Naib tehsildar, Class 12, teacher eligibility, clerk and pharmacy officer recruitment.
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann denied any paper leaks during his tenure and accused opposition of defaming Punjab’s reputation.
The Barnala incident led to the suspension of Deputy Superintendent of Police Satvir Singh and the formation of a special investigation team by the state government.
