Forced Disappearances of Minors Continue in Karachi, Balochistan
When people are 'forcibly disappeared,' they are taken away by officials and their families are not told where they are.
In Pakistan, a new report says this has happened to several people, including two school students who are 14 years old.
Some men in Karachi, in a place called Tikri, were taken from near their homes by soldiers called Rangers.
Two teenagers were taken from Sariab Road in the city of Quetta by security officers.
The families of the people who were taken say they have not heard anything about them.
One man named Mansoor Anwar was taken in this way before, in November 2023, and was found about two months later.
But in August, he was taken away again, and people don't know where he is.
In another sad event, a man named Inayatullah Jattak was killed in Khuzdar.
His daughter Asma had just asked for help, saying she was worried about her father and brothers.
Many people and human rights groups are upset and want the disappearances and violence to stop.
Several people, including two 14-year-old students, have been forcibly disappeared in Karachi and Balochistan, according to a Balochistan Post report.
Three men from Tikri in Karachi's Mauripur area — Sabir (28), Abdul Aziz (30) and Aamir (28) — were taken by Rangers and CTD personnel between August 5 and August 7.
Two 14-year-old students were detained by CTD and ISI personnel from Sariab Road in Quetta on July 24.
Mansoor Anwar of Buleda was detained on August 4 after previously being disappeared in November 2023 and recovered in January 2024.
Baloch civilian Inayatullah Jattak was killed in Khuzdar hours after his daughter Asma Jattak publicly appealed for protection.
