Punjab Imposes Infrastructure Toll Tax on Vehicles from Himachal

The Rupnagar Zila Parishad in Punjab has decided to charge a special tax on vehicles coming from Himachal Pradesh.

This tax is not for entering Punjab but to help build and improve roads in the areas near the border with Himachal.

The decision was made during a meeting and is allowed by a law called the Punjab Panchayati Raj Act.

This comes after Himachal Pradesh had earlier charged a similar tax on vehicles from other states, which caused some upset among people who travel between the two states.
