Manipur willing to conduct NRC within constitutional framework
Manipur is a state in India.

Manipur Home Minister Govindas Konthoujam said the state has conveyed to the central government its willingness to conduct the National Register of Citizens (NRC) exercise within the constitutional and legal framework.
He spoke at the inauguration of a two-day consultative meeting-cum-seminar on the demographic profile of Manipur in Imphal.
Konthoujam noted that the Ministry of Home Affairs had earlier constituted a high-level committee to examine issues relating to demographic changes in the country.
Chief Minister Y Khemchand Singh said repeated bandhs, blockades and agitations have adversely affected the state's economy, hurting daily wage earners the most.
Singh added that the ongoing blockade has created serious difficulties for truck drivers stranded on national highways while transporting essential commodities.
