PDP defies FIR against Mehbooba, Iltija Mufti over cop assault; Article 370 takes centre stage · telegraphindia.com

Article 370 used to be a special rule for a place in India called Jammu and Kashmir.

A few years ago, the government ended that rule.

Some people want the rule to come back and hold protests on the day it was taken away.

A political party called the PDP has a leader named Mehbooba Mufti and her daughter Iltija.

Police said that during a protest, a police officer was hurt, and they made a case against the two leaders.

Iltija had to go to the police station to answer questions about it.

Many people marched with her and shouted for Article 370 to come back.

Iltija said she was not doing anything wrong and that it is her right as a citizen to ask for Article 370 peacefully.

The leaders say the case was made only to stop them from speaking.

The chief minister of the area also said the case looked like a trick to make the PDP look strong again.

“Iltija has been called to the Kothibagh police station. She will go. (If) they call me tomorrow, I will also go. But remember one thing: whether Iltija or I are inside the jail or outside, you will not leave Mufti Mohammad Sayeed’s agenda, vision and the road map that he has given for the resolution of the Kashmir issue. Article 370 is a part of that (road map).”
