DLSA Expands Free Legal Aid Access for Farmers
The District Legal Services Authority wants to help farmers who cannot afford legal advice.
It held a meeting at Kothapalli Mandal Rythu Vedika.
Farmers, tenant farmers and farm workers may receive free legal representation and counselling.
They can call 15100 to ask for help.
The meeting explained rights involving land records and compensation.
It also discussed loans, crop insurance and protection from private moneylenders.
Farmers can complain about poor seeds or adulterated fertilisers through consumer forums.
They were also told about other services that may help settle problems more quickly.

Senior Civil Judge and DLSA Secretary Yashwant Singh announced the support at a legal awareness seminar in Kothapalli Mandal.
Economically disadvantaged farmers, tenant farmers and agricultural labourers can seek free legal representation and counselling by calling 15100.
The seminar covered land rights, compensation, tenant-farmer schemes, Kisan Credit Card loans and protection from private moneylenders.
Farmers were encouraged to use crop insurance, consumer forums, Lok Adalats, Tele-Law and the LSMS portal for assistance.
