Bandra Police Register FIR Against Applicant Over Fake Birth Certificate

The police also could not find any record of it in the government's online system.
So the police believe the document was fake, filed a case against the man, and the investigation is still going on.
Bandra Police registered an FIR against Rahimuddin Nizamuddin Hashmi, a resident of Nargis Dutt Nagar, Bandra West, for allegedly submitting a forged birth certificate during passport verification.
Hashmi applied for a fresh Indian passport on October 3, 2023, under application number BO3066943402422, which was forwarded to Bandra Police Station for verification.
During verification on October 16, 2023, police scrutinized his father's birth certificate, which Hashmi allegedly said was obtained from the Registrar (Births and Deaths), District Hospital, Bhadohi, Uttar Pradesh.
A QR code on the certificate led to a suspicious website rather than the official government system, and Bhadohi authorities replied on April 15, 2024, that the certificate was not issued by their office.
No corresponding record was found on the Central Government's Civil Registration System portal, leading police to allege the document was forged; a case was registered and further investigation is underway.
