ISRO Expands Space Vision with New Missions
The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has been very busy launching satellites and planning big space missions.
Over the last five years, they launched 22 satellites for different purposes like observing Earth, communication, and science.
Two of their projects, Chandrayaan-3 and Aditya-L1, took longer than planned but didn't cost more.
ISRO is also working on sending people to space with their Gaganyaan Programme.
They are building new spaceships and facilities to make this happen.
The government wants India to have its own space station by 2035 and send an astronaut to the moon by 2040.
To do this, they are developing new technologies and increasing the budget for space projects.
ISRO is also working on reusable rockets and more powerful engines to make space travel cheaper and better.
ISRO launched 22 satellites between 2020 and 2025, including Earth Observation, Communication, Navigation, Space Science, and Technology Demonstration missions.
Chandrayaan-3 and Aditya-L1 had time overruns of 28 and 46 months respectively, but no cost overruns.
The Gaganyaan Programme aims to send humans to space by 2027-28, with a revised budget of ₹20,193 crore for eight missions.
ISRO is developing new technologies like reusable launch vehicles, high-thrust engines, and air-breathing propulsion systems.
India plans to build its own space station, Bharatiya Antariksh Station, by 2035 and send an astronaut to the moon by 2040.
