Oracle Warns of Rains, Accidents During Bonalu Ritual
A woman named Swarnalatha, who is considered an oracle, performed a special ritual at a temple in Secunderabad.
She said that the state will have heavy rains and that many accidents could happen, so people should be careful.
She also talked about how some young people are doing bad things and that parents need to help.
The priests promised to finish putting up her idol soon.
After the ritual, a big parade with a decorated elephant and the goddess’s picture ended the festival.
Oracle Swarnalatha performed the Rangam ritual at Sri Ujjaini Mahankali Temple on Monday morning.
She predicted heavy rains and warned of increased accidents and loss of life during the second day of Bonalu.
Swarnalatha criticized society, especially youngsters, and parents for violent acts and delayed idol installation.
Priests assured the idol would be installed within six months, but Swarnalatha threatened to crush obstacles.
A caparisoned elephant procession with Goddess Sri Mahankali and Manikyalamma concluded the festival.
