Officials Flag Off Daily CSMT–Sawantwadi Road Express Train
A new daily train service was introduced in Maharashtra.
It connects Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus in Mumbai with Sawantwadi Road.
The first journey was flagged off on September 3, 2026.
Union Minister Piyush Goyal attended the event in person.
Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw joined by video conference.
Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde also took part.
Several state leaders and railway officials attended the ceremony.
The train is now intended to run every day between the two stations.
Piyush Goyal, Ashwini Vaishnaw and Eknath Shinde flagged off the inaugural run.
The new service runs daily between Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus and Sawantwadi Road.

Rahul Narvekar, Nitesh Rane and Mumbai Mayor Ritu Tawde attended the ceremony.
