Anthropic Says Claude Now Leads 26% of R&D Work

Claude’s role in Anthropic’s AI research and development rose from under 1% in February to 26% by August.

Anthropic said more than 90% of its AI R&D now involves AI collaboration with humans or supervised end-to-end leadership.

The company introduced the Anthropic R&D Automation Index to track this change in real time.

The index is based on Epoch AI’s Automation Level scale.

The disclosure comes amid calls for a global slowdown in AI development.
