Modi urges 'developed India' pledge and Har Ghar Tiranga drive

India has a very special day called Independence Day, when the country celebrates becoming free.

Long ago, brave people called freedom fighters worked hard to make India independent.

The leader of India, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, asked everyone to remember these heroes.

He wants people to take a promise, called a pledge, to help India become a developed country.

He also started a campaign called 'Har Ghar Tiranga', which means 'Tricolour in every home'.

The Tiranga is India's flag, and he wants families to put it up at their homes.

He shared this message while meeting his friends and partners in the government in New Delhi.

Meanwhile, in Parliament, where leaders make laws, there has been a lot of shouting and protesting.

Two groups of leaders are upset with each other over things like how the police treated students and how money donated to a big temple was handled.

Still, the prime minister says the best way to celebrate is to feel proud and wave the flag.
