Hamamatsu, Gujarat Chambers Sign Economic Cooperation Pact
Two big groups of business leaders from Japan and India made a special promise to work together.
This promise is to help the cities of Ahmedabad in India and Hamamatsu in Japan become better friends and do more business together.
Important people from both countries were there to celebrate this special day.
They also remembered 50 years of friendship between India and Japan, and one year of being sister states.
Hamamatsu Chamber of Commerce & Industry and Gujarat Chamber of Commerce & Industry signed an MoU for Economic Cooperation.
The signing took place on the 50th Anniversary of the Indo-Japan Friendship Association and the 1st Anniversary of the Sister State Partnership between Shizuoka Prefecture and Gujarat State.
The Japan delegation was led by Hiraki Sho, Vice Governor of Shizuoka Prefecture, and Yusuke Nakano, Mayor of Hamamatsu City.
Key attendees included Sujan Chinoy, Former Ambassador of India to Japan, and Koji Yagi, Consul General in Mumbai.
The MoU aims to formalize and further the Sister City Partnership between Ahmedabad and Hamamatsu.
