Telangana Board Imposes Penalties on Private Junior Colleges
In India, there is a place called Telangana where a board checks on schools called junior colleges.
The Telangana Board of Intermediate Education found out that 45 colleges were cheating.
These colleges gave fake safety papers about fire safety and even copied an official's signature.
Fire safety papers help make sure a building is safe if there is a fire.
The board fined each of those colleges a big amount of money.
It also fined more than 95 other colleges for not following the rules.
Some colleges had no proper approval, not enough teachers, or missing laboratories.
Now those colleges have to pay their fines and fix their problems.
The Telangana Board of Intermediate Education (TGBIE) fined 45 private junior colleges Rs 8 lakh each for submitting fake fire no-objection certificates.
The fake certificates allegedly contained forged signatures of the HYDRAA commissioner.
The irregularities were uncovered through reports submitted by HYDRAA during document verification.
TGBIE also imposed penalties of Rs 1 lakh to Rs 10 lakh on more than 95 private junior colleges for violating norms.
Task force inspections found colleges running without proper approvals and with shortages of faculty, laboratories and other facilities.
