AP SACS Probes False HIV Diagnosis Report
The Andhra Pradesh State AIDS Control Society (AP SACS) is looking into a case where a woman was wrongly told she had HIV.
This mistake caused her and her family a lot of trouble for four years.
The society has appointed an officer to investigate and find out what went wrong.
They also did new tests, which showed that the woman does not have HIV.

Fresh HIV tests confirmed the woman was HIV-negative, conducted at Proddutur Government Hospital.
AP SACS clarified that certain conditions can cause false-positive test results.
The inquiry officer is directed to submit a detailed report by February 5, 2026.
