CPI launches padayatra in Warangal against BJP policies
The Communist Party of India, also called CPI, is a political party in India.
CPI leaders started a long walking march called a padayatra in Warangal to protest against the policies of the BJP-led central government.
CPI says those policies have hurt ordinary people.
The walk began at Pochamma Maidan in Warangal city and passed through LB Nagar, Gorrekunta and Dharmaram before ending at Geesukonda.
During the march, leaders said the government is selling public companies to private businesses.
They also said prices are rising and jobs are hard to find for young people.
They want a legal guarantee of a minimum price for farmers' crops.
CPI started these marches across the country on August 6 to speak directly with ordinary people.

The march was flagged off by CPI State Assistant Secretary Takkallapalli Srinivasa Rao from Pochamma Maidan.
The padayatra passed through LB Nagar, Gorrekunta and Dharmaram before reaching Geesukonda.
CPI accused the BJP-led central government of weakening the federal structure, privatising public sector units and favouring corporate forces.
The nationwide padayatras, which began on August 6, will cover various districts, rural areas and towns to engage with marginalised sections.
