A 69-year-old woman named Shobha Vasudev Dalvi became seriously ill after eating rice mixed with rat poison.
She was at her home in Sapadgaon, near Kalyan.
Her son was away celebrating Dahi Handi at the time.
When her health worsened, her son took her to a hospital.
