South Korean Court Hacking Attempts Surge Amid Bank Data Breaches

South Korea’s court computer network faced many more hacking attempts this year than during the same months last year.

The court recorded nearly 240,000 attempts from January to August.

March was the busiest month.

Separately, several banks have reported information leaks after hacking attacks.

Hana Bank said information about 89 customers was exposed.

The leaked details included names, addresses, phone numbers and resident registration numbers.

The financial regulator told firms to check their computer security.

It also moved up a meeting with affected financial firms to discuss responses.
