J-K LG approves budget, programmes, hostel for Vaishno Devi University

Manoj Sinha, the lieutenant governor of Jammu and Kashmir, led an important meeting at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University.

The university reviewed its studies, finances, administration and building projects.

Leaders approved the university’s budget for 2026-27 and accepted its latest audit report.

They also agreed in principle to start law and food technology programmes.

A new 200-bed hostel for boys was also approved in principle.

The university’s sports complex will be completed with help from the Shrine Board.

Leaders want students to receive more counselling, mental-health support and academic help.

They also want a five-year plan and new vocational courses connected to industry.
