J&K Police Arrest Two Over Fake NDPS Extortion Threats
In a place called Anantnag in Kashmir, police caught two people who were being mean and taking money from a man.
They scared him by saying they would make up a fake criminal case against him if he didn't pay them.
Because he was afraid, the man gave them Rs 24,000.
Then he went to the police and told them what happened.
The police checked and found out the man had not done anything wrong at all.
So the police started an official investigation and arrested the two people.
The police said they are working hard to protect people from being scared and robbed.
There have been other similar cases in Kashmir recently, and police are cracking down on them.
Anantnag police arrested two people for extorting Rs 24,000 from a man by threatening to falsely implicate him in an NDPS case.
The complaint was filed by Ajaz Ahmad Shah of Pethi Nambal Mattan at Police Station Srigufwara.
Police verified the complaint and found the complainant was not involved in any such case.
A case was registered under FIR No. 68/2026 under Sections 308(2)(6), 318(4) and 351(2) BNS.
The arrested accused are Muzafar Ahmad Mir and Jan Mohd Wagay, both residents of Anantnag.
